K. pneumoniae ATCC 43816 count in the blood and lung tissues of Wistar rats. Bacterial load in the blood (A: males and B: females) and lungs (C: males and D: females) of daily up to day 15 instillation of K. pneumoniae at 1.5 × 105, 1.5 × 106, 1.5 × 107 and 1.5 × 108 CFU/mL doses in Wistar rats. All results were mean ± SD of six animals per group. Bacterial count evolution was analysed using Dunnett’s post-test (*: p < 0.05; **: p < 0.01; ***: p < 0.001); K. pneumoniae ATCC 43816 infected groups at 1.5 × 105, 1.5 × 106, 1.5 × 107 and 1.5 × 108 CFU/mL doses vs not-infected group
